Progress on the EP...

So I’ve been writing, re-writing, reframing several songs that I wrote several years ago, and they are finally taking shape enough to be close to recording. Three of the tracks already have been laid down as demos, and that’s really more for my benefit than anyone else’s. But my end goal is to start recording these five songs, mix them, and maybe get them mastered by the end of April. I don’t think that’s a long shot; but it does mean I need to frequent my home studio more often than I currently do. And to be honest my biggest hurdle at this point is how to record drums with only two mic inputs. Thanks to Google (and to Ronan’s Recording Show), I think I’ve found the way to clear that hurdle. So that’s freaking fantastic, yeah? Oh, and I’ve been fighting a head cold/sinus congestion, so it’s given me time this weekend to think about all this, and I’m ready to hit the road on this little endeavor of mine. Below is the lyric to a song called Stumble that Erick Taylor and I penned long ago. The main reason i include it is because i laid down guitar, keys and vocals on it yesterday and it’s words are appropriate for the Lent season we are currently in. Enjoy.
